Versatile Longevity was designed based on original research that evaluated consumers’ attitudes and behaviors toward transformable garments, intending to keep them in use longer. Creating longevity and transformable garments helps achieve the goals of sustainable fashion practices, particularly when considering appropriate design approaches, garment lifespan, and the introduction of new ideas into the market to meet consumer needs. The design can be used in three forms: a full dress, a cape, and a separate top, using metal zippers to remove or add the skirt to the collar. This dress reminds the wearer to commit to sustainable fashion and responsible consumption. It encourages a shift toward valuing quality over quantity and embracing versatile and enduring clothing options. Extending the lifespan and versatility of a single garment could reduce waste and minimize the negative impact on the environment.
